Poem by Judy Eaton
I've been all over this big world,
And seen many a sight.
The one thing in common all countries share
Is the moon, lighting the night.
I've seen it glowing in the sky,
Over African scenes,
And blocked by Scotland's stormy clouds
Above the Highlands steep ravines.
But views of the moon that thrill my heart
Are right here at home each evening
When I go down to my chickens,
and stand, barely believing
The beauty of the lunar light
Above our Eagle Creek.
Moonlight clears away the path
For the peace I seek.
