Summer Skies

We have been fortunate with no fires near us this year. The smoke and haze from distant fires have created some interesting atmospheres. The valley that I live in is a bit of a bowl and depending on the time of year the sun lights up different parts of the sky at sunrise and sunset. The Eastern views are sometimes more spectacular than the Western views at sunset. Hope you enjoy.

The first three images are from the Sparta ridge about 10 pm 
The smoke and haze created a red rainbow in the eastern sky near dark. 
This was the western sky at the same time as the rainbow. The smoky sunset looked like a forest fire coming over the mountain.
